The expert’s eye – Experience, Qualifications & Resume
Our team of restoration specialists and consultants were educated at noted English, American, Swiss and Italian schools of horology and cabinetry. Owner and founder Gerald Grunsell, was apprenticed for seven years to the renowned William J. Gazeley in Clerkenwell, London. Mr. Grunsell was elected to the prestigious British Horological Institute where he was awarded a Fellowship. He has had shops in the English countryside, London, New York City and, for over 30 years, in Ridgefield, Connecticut. With this education and experience, the Horologist of London has numerous contacts for the development and procurement of a fine horological collection.

The designer’s flair – The perfect match for your home
Whether you’re looking for a timepiece for a New York loft or period home in New England, we understand the importance of matching the clock to its setting. We will bring clocks to your home to see in place to assure the perfect choice.
The collector’s instinct – Great makers, classic clock forms
The restored clocks and watches passing through our hands regularly include items by such celebrated names as Willard, Quare, Knibb, Tompion, Graham and Frodsham. We purchase only the finest examples of horology, carefully restoring their movements as befits their status as scientific instruments as well as works of art.
The investor’s market – An art and early technology investment
A clock collection is always a sound investment offering good long-term returns. In recent years antique clocks and timepieces – by well-known makers – have shown a steady increase in value relative to their scarcity.
